Hello World

I’ve been building products for over 18+ years. Started as a designer, learned to code, ran teams, hired hundreds of people, watched startups succeed and fail.

Along the way, I noticed something broken.

The Problem With How Things Work

Most founders I know have the same story. They have a solid idea, maybe even validation. They try to hire engineers and designers. It takes months. It costs a fortune. By the time the team is assembled, the market has moved.

Or they go the agency route. Get a proposal, sign a contract, wait for “discovery.” Three months later they have wireframes and a deck but no working product. The budget is gone and they’re back to square one.

And now there’s a new one: vibe coding with AI. Founders prompt their way to a prototype, ship something that looks like it works, then realize six months later the whole thing needs to be rebuilt. The architecture doesn’t scale. The code is a mess. The shortcuts become expensive. I’ve seen this play out more times than I can count.

This isn’t a talent problem. There are incredible designers and engineers everywhere. It’s a structure problem. The way agencies work, the way hiring works, the way projects get scoped and sold. It’s all optimized for the wrong things.

Why mx.works Exists

I’m starting mx.works because I want to build the thing I wish existed as a founder.

A small team of senior people who actually ship. No layers of account managers. No junior devs learning on your dime. No endless meetings about meetings.

Just experienced designers and engineers who’ve done this before, working directly with you to build something real.

What I Actually Believe

Speed matters more than perfection. A working product in 8 weeks beats a perfect spec in 6 months. You learn more from real users than from research decks.

Small teams beat big ones. Three senior people who talk every day and use AI will outship a team of twenty with standups and sprints and retros.

Design and engineering aren’t separate. The best products come from people who understand both. We don’t do handoffs. We do collaboration.

AI changes everything. Not in a hype way. In a practical way. We use AI tools every day to move faster. We build AI features for clients. This is the new normal and we’re deep in it.

Relationships beat transactions. We’d rather work with five clients for years than fifty clients for weeks. We want to know your business, your users, your constraints. That takes time.

Who This Is For

We work best with founders and product leaders who:

  • Have a clear problem they’re solving
  • Can make decisions quickly
  • Value speed over process
  • Want a partner, not a vendor

If that sounds like you, we should talk.

What’s Next

This is the first of many notes. Every week I’ll share what we’re working on, what we’re learning, tools we’re excited about, problems we’ve solved.

No marketing fillers or sales pitches. Just what we’re working on, our experiments and results.

If you want to follow along, stick around. If you want to work together, book a call.

Let’s build something.
